Greetings, everyone!
Camate here after a week of FFXIV fun at E3 2016! My feet might be a bit upset at me right now for the long periods of standing, but it was well worth it to see fans have such a great time.
This year we went even bigger. And by big, I do in fact mean the big Fat Chocobo statue we had on display in the entrance to the South Hall. You could even ride on it, and naturally, Yoshida had to perform his final checks by giving it a try!
Heading into the South Hall and making an immediate right, you would find the Square Enix booth, which was massive this year, with FFXIV right at the front.
Similar to PAX East 2016, we held another Sephirot Battle Challenge for attendees to test their battle prowess in order to win an “I Beat Sephirot” t-shirt.
E3 is usually all about seeing the new and latest titles, and even though FFXIV has been out for some time now, the line to play the battle challenge wrapped around the booth!
In addition to the t-shirts, as customary for E3, we prepared large bags with FFXIV illustrations, which were handed out to anyone visiting the booth. More than the last couple of years, the bags were extremely popular amongst attendees, and I can’t even count the number of times we were asked if we had any more bags left!
While all the commotion was happening at the booth, Yoshida was busy holding interviews in the back room, but we managed to catch him in his downtime talking to players on the North American Worlds.
On Wednesday, June 15, we also held the Letter from the Producer LIVE at E3 2016 straight from the show floor.
Bayohne led the show as MC this time around, and the ever-popular Aimi did an amazing job interpreting for Yoshida.
For show and tell during the broadcast, Yoshida brought along some new merchandise; one of which, the Cait Sith Doll plushie, is now available for pre-order from the Square Enix Online Store!
E3 has come and gone, but there is no time for the FFXIV team to rest just yet! Everyone is now at the North America Square Enix office for some top secret meetings to discuss the future of FFXIV!
I wonder what kind of spoilers Yoshida is letting slip…
