FFXIV News - Dev Blog: 14 Hours in 2 Minutes
A new post full of FFXIV: Heavensward information has now been released by Square Enix. The information from the dev blog is quoted below.

Greetings, everyone!
Camate here with a look at some of the fun happenings that took place during the 14-hour broadcast this past weekend.

The show kicked off with a short introductory segment starring Yoshi-P and Foxclon.

After welcoming all the viewers, they dove right into the content with “Yoshi-P’s Room.” For this segment they invited core development team members and Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda to share their thoughts on the past two years and what they’d like to see in the future.

The next stop on the 14-hour train was the Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XXIV. In this Patch 3.1 special, Yoshi-P introduced some of the great content and changes that will be taking place in the next major patch.

A bit after the Letter LIVE, World Lore Creators Banri Oda and Michael-Christopher Koji Fox joined up with Mocchi from the Community team to discuss pressing topics, such as the origins of the name for the Madman Bridge in Lower La Noscea and the story behind the flags at the Pugilists’ Guild, during “The Lore Lowdown.”

Following hot on the tail of the lore segment was the special guest segment that featured voice actress Rie Tanaka (the Japanese voice of Garuda and Kan-E-Senna). She even came dressed up in the Thavnairian costume set! As you can probably already tell from her authentic-looking costume, she shared stories about her hard-core FFXIV life.

Here’s a picture of her with Soken and Yoshi-P getting pumped for the release of “Before the Fall: FINAL FANTASY XIV Original Sountrack.”

Anniversary celebrations are a prime time to share census data, and during the stream a variety of different data tidbits were revealed with slides for this year’s Eorzea Census.

While the main live stream segments were taking place, Assistant Director Hiroshi Takai was working hard to overcome the challenge he accepted. This year his objective was to collect 50 of the 141 minions found in Eorzea, and the stream checked in on his progress from time to time.

At the end of the broadcast, it was quite close, but he fell short of his objective by ten. Considering the time restraints and the other rules set in place for him, I’d say he did a great job! I wonder what kind of challenge he will undertake next time!

By the end of the broadcast the tables were overflowing with empty bottles of alcohol and teas, and the entire team had a blast celebrating! It’s been an amazing two years, and we’re looking forward to the adventures ahead!

Now it’s time to get back to preparing for PAX Prime
I hope to see you there!
