Hello again, Warriors of Light!
Luxpheras here, bringing you details on the first official art book of Stormblood that is scheduled for release next week in North America: FINAL FANTASY XIV: STORMBLOOD Art of the Revolution – Western Memories –
The cover is decorated with some of our favorite heroes of the expansion, Lyse and Hien!
This art book is primarily comprised of art drawn up to Patch 4.1 in Stormblood, and yet it contains something close to 800 pieces of original artwork.
Let’s take a sneak peek at some of the stunning work found between these pages!
Alphinaud and Alisae are looking smart in their new attire, courtesy of Tataru- and Lady Yugiri is looking stunning as always!
Illustrations of the two new jobs of Stormblood, samurai and red mage, can also be found in the art book.
We made sure to include image artworks and illustrations of Kugane, and other areas used as a base when developing Stormblood. This lively scene of the city of Kugane is probably one of my favorites!
Here we have concept art of our antagonist Zenos yae Galvus. There’s also concept art of each region and their NPCs!
Illustrations of small to large monsters that appear in instanced dungeons and FATE bosses such as Tamamo-no-gozen from “Foxy Lady”!
The attention to detail on designs like the Genji weapon set from Omega: Deltascape truly blows me away. I think my favorite is the Genji Ephemeris, the astrologian weapon. It almost looks as though there’s a Quicktongue Materia V in the center!
Of course, Stormblood came with a plethora of new housing items, and you can find their designs in the art book as well! That Fat Chocobo Table Chronometer is too cute…
The art book also includes a special segment detailing how the new outfits, such as the job-specific gear, and character outfits came to life by our Character Concept Artist, Ayumi Namae. (Japanese version shown above, but the interviews will be in English in the international edition!)
Each copy comes with a bonus in-game item code for a Wind-up Yotsuyu minion, for all your pocket-sized acting imperial viceroy needs.
*Square Enix cannot be held responsible for any sudden memory loss that the Wind-up Yotsuyu minion may incur. Please avoid letting an entire castle fall on her.
FINAL FANTASY XIV: STORMBLOOD Art of the Revolution – Western Memories – is scheduled for release on Monday, February 26th, 2018 and is available now for pre-order. Books will be shipping soon and supplies are going fast, be sure to visit the Square Enix Store to order yours today!
If you need me, I’ll be nestled in a corner chair by the window with my art book in hand.
Until next time!
